Using the Six Thinking Hats, what questions might I ask for each hat in considering the fable The Tortoise and the Hare?
The White Hat:
What is motivating this tortoise? Why race a hare? How long is the race?
The Yellow Hat:
How will the tortoise benefit from winning? Will the hare learn anything valuable from this race?
The Black Hat:
Isn’t this tortoise in a bit over his head? What is lacking in his life that he feels the need to race someone who is obviously faster than him? Why would the hare agree to this seemingly simple race?
The Red Hat:
What will the rabbit tell his friends about this incident? How will he overcome the disappointment? Will the tortoise brag to everyone about this win?
The Green Hat:
Does the tortoise understand that he has forever changed the face of tortoisedom everywhere? When will a statue be erected in his honor? What will this statue look like? How can the hare make up for this crushing defeat?
The Blue Hat:
In what ways will people benefit from hearing this story? What are other ways that we can learn from nature?
